In an effort to control and legalize the diverse activities on our beaches, the Government sought to implement a system of charging a fee for space used as part of the overall process.  While the rationale was felt to be generally sound – especially for operators using public space for commercial activities, the levy was exorbitant and resulted in negative feedback from Resorts. On behalf of its members, ATSA engaged legal counsel to try to resolve this issue and we are still awaiting the official verdict.
